What is included with the purchase of an outboard motor?
Outboard motors 25hp and below are equipped with a propeller and either an integral fuel tank (smallest outboards) or a remote fuel tank and fuel line. Outboard Motors 30hp and larger do not feature these items, but they are available at your request.
Engine manufacturers discontinued the inclusion of any rigging components with the engine, so our outboard motors do not include controls, gauges or other rigging features. These accessories are available to you at an extra, but competitive price.
Which of your outboard motors
feature electric start, power trim or a tiller?
We know that it is crucial for your motor to have the right features. We have created an inventory
listing that makes it easy for you to determine which outboard motors
have the specifications that you need. For additional information, please consult the outboard motors listing.
Would you recommend a 2-Stroke or a 4-Stroke motor?
Optimax, OX66, Classic, EFI, DFI - these are all confusing terms. It was traditionally the case that an outboard was an outboard. However, new technology offers many different options. The downside to this
is that it can be perplexing to know which motor is best for
your unique situation. At this point most manufacturers offer
a broad range of choices when it comes to motor types. There are advantages to both 2-stoke motors and
4-stroke motors. We recommend reading this article about the
difference between 2-stroke DFI motors and 4-stroke motors to aid
you in choosing a higher horsepower engine.
Do not become anxious. We can offer expert and impartial advice to help you determine which motor technology is the best fit for you. The following chart will help you pinpoint some of the manufacturers' terminologies.

Which size of outboard motor is best for my boat?
Maximum horsepower scores are established by your boat's manufacturer
and then certified by the USCG. Your hull plate provides
this information. We urge you to follow the maximum
horsepower rating that has been established for your boat.
Are these motors new or used?
You can determine
what condition the outboard motor is in from our classifications. We only offer the major
brands and only the foremost available deals from these manufacturers.
What if the outboard motor that I want is not on your
website?
We update our outboard motor list daily, and inventory changes
happen often. Check our site frequently for the particular outboard motor
that you desire. We also have outboard motors that are not featured
online, so please call if you have a particular request. We'll
conduct a custom search on your behalf if you so desire.
Do you often update your online inventory?
Yes. We update our inventory daily because of rapid changes. We thus provide
you with accurate availability information.
What is the warranty plan that comes with your outboard
motor?
We have two different warranties: dealer and manufacturer.
Please consult the warranty details of the motor that most appeals to you. The below information is a general summary:
Manufacturer Warranties: These are provided by the manufacturers - Mercury, Evinrude, Yamaha, Honda or Johnson - and will be honored at an authorized dealer.
Dealer Warranties: The fulfilled dealer provides these warranties. If a problem arise, you need to contact your sales representative. He or she would then put you in touch with the warranty department of the dealer. Most often, the dealer will allow you to go ahead and have the motor fixed locally. Do not give your servicing dealer the go-ahead to fix your motor without talking to your sales representative and getting the approval from the fulfilling dealer.
Is extended coverage available on outboard motors?
Yes. We have different options for extended coverage on most of our models. Anywhere between one and
five years of additional coverage may be available to you, depending on the outboard motor
that you purchase. Ask your sales representative for more information at the time of purchase.
Is sales tax applied to my purchase?
Not if you live outside of Canada. The benefit of purchasing over the Internet is
that you do not have to pay sales tax. If you live in a state that
demands you to name or register your outboard motor, you may be charged a local tax. If you live within Canada, you have to pay 7% GST. BC residents must pay the PST.
From where will my outboard motor ship? What is your location?
Our headquarters is in Delta, British
Columbia. Shipping prices depend on engine horsepower and your mailing address. About us
Will my ourboard motor be insured
against freight damage when it is shipped?
Yes. We use a number of freight companies, and all of them have
excellent insurance deals on shipments.
Are titles applied to your outboard motors?
Pre-owned, used outboard motors or New/Demo outboard motors: The receipt of your sale that you receive from Bridgeview Marine is sufficient to get a local title for your outboard motor. Some US states request that you fill out an affidavit or other paperwork in order to apply for the title. We are happy to provide this paperwork if your local agency requires it.
Do you have a financing plan?
Yes. Bridgeview Marine has joined with one of the largest and best marine
financing organizations in the industry. Contact us for additional information.
Do you accept outboard motor trade-ins?
Yes, but we do not take outboard trade-ins. We must be able to assess your trade condition.
Do you sell propellers?
We have a variety of propellers that will benefit you. We also have
many trained propeller specialists who can help you make the right selection. Please try our propeller finder.
